British rider Toby Shaw has secured the 2025/2026 FIM Junior SuperEnduro World Championship, sealing the title at the final round in Douai, France on March 7. Backed by Plews Tyres throughout the season, Shaw delivered a breakthrough campaign that turned him from a regular podium contender into world champion.

A title built on consistency

Shaw’s season was built step by step. After opening the championship in third place, he kept himself in the fight with strong podium finishes in Germany, Spain, and Budapest, always staying close enough to strike when the opportunity came.

That key moment arrived at the penultimate round in Newcastle, where Shaw produced the ride of his season in front of his home crowd. With three holeshots and three race wins, he became the first rider all year to take an overall round victory away from the previously dominant Milan Schmüser. That perfect night put the red plate in Shaw’s hands heading into the final showdown in France.

“The Newcastle round was special,” Shaw said after winning the title. “Racing in front of family and friends, winning all three races. It gave me the confidence heading into France. The championship still hadn’t sunk in even after crossing the line. Best night of my life so far.”

Finishing the job in France

Arriving in Douai as championship leader, Shaw stayed composed under pressure. After fighting back to second in Race 1, he delivered when it mattered most in Race 2.

Starting from 14th on the reverse grid, the British rider carved his way through the field, took the lead, and crossed the line in first place — the result that officially made him FIM Junior SuperEnduro World Champion.

A championship-winning partnership

Plews Tyres described Shaw’s title as a perfect example of its “Made To Win” philosophy, highlighting its commitment to supporting rising riders on their path to the top.

Plews founder Josh Plews said:
“Toby’s world championship is exactly what ‘Made To Win’ stands for. We don’t just support riders who’ve already won world titles—we invest in talented athletes on their way up, giving them the same quality tyres and commitment we provide to established champions. Toby proved throughout the season that when you combine exceptional talent with championship-level equipment, special things happen.

Watching him sweep Newcastle in front of his home crowd, then seal the title in France—that’s the kind of success we’re proud to be part of. Toby worked incredibly hard for this championship, showed real character when the pressure was on, and demonstrated he belongs at the top. We’re excited to support him as he continues his career, and we’re proud that a world championship has been won on Plews tyres.”

Confidence in the equipment

SuperEnduro puts tyres through some of the harshest conditions in motorsport — slippery concrete pipes, sharp rocks, wet sections, loose dirt, and massive jumps all in a single lap. Shaw said having full confidence in the tyres made a big difference during the championship fight.

The tyres performed flawlessly all season,” Shaw noted. “Whether it was the muddy conditions, the rock gardens, or the technical sections, I always had the grip I needed to push hard and take the lines I wanted. That confidence in your equipment makes all the difference when you’re fighting for a championship.

What comes next

After taking the Junior world title, Shaw is now considering a move up to the Prestige class for the 2026/2027 SuperEnduro season, where he could line up against the sport’s top names and multiple world champions.

Plews Tyres has already made it clear it intends to stay with him for the next step.

We’re committed to Toby for the long term,” said Josh Plews. “He’s proven he can win at the highest level, and we’re excited to support him if he decides to move up to Prestige and continue developing. This championship is just the beginning.
