2027 KTM 300 EXC HARDENDURO. What's New?

KTM has unveiled the 2027 KTM 300 EXC HARDENDURO, the most extreme and race-focused model in its enduro range.

Developed around KTM’s hard enduro racing experience, the 300 EXC HARDENDURO combines the lightweight character and torque delivery of the two-stroke platform with a long list of premium components aimed directly at riders tackling technical terrain and extreme races.

For 2027, KTM has kept the proven platform but refreshed the bike with new HARDENDURO-specific graphics while retaining the equipment that separates it from the standard EXC and EXC 6DAYS models.

More Than Just a Graphics Package

The orange frame and dedicated graphics make the bike instantly recognisable, but the HARDENDURO treatment goes much further.

The 2027 model comes fitted with a selection of competition-focused parts straight from the factory, meaning riders do not need to start building an extreme enduro package from scratch.

Key equipment includes:

  • HARDENDURO-specific graphics
  • Orange frame
  • HARDENDURO bar pad
  • Soft grey ODI lock-on grips
  • Black ribbed Diamante Factory seat
  • Map-select switch
  • Orange Factory frame protectors
  • Factory wheel set with black Excel rims, black spokes, orange hubs and orange spoke nipples
  • Metzeler 6Days Extreme tyres with a soft rear
  • Wrap-around handguards
  • Radiator fan
  • Black anodised CNC-machined triple clamps
  • WP XACT Closed Cartridge front fork
  • Skid plate
  • Floating front brake disc
  • Front brake disc guard
  • Solid rear brake disc
  • Rear brake safety wire
  • Orange rear brake disc guard
  • Orange Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket
  • Orange oil plug
  • Clutch slave cylinder protection
  • Front and rear pull straps
  • Black anodised engine hangers

WP XACT Closed Cartridge Suspension

One of the key chassis highlights is the WP XACT Closed Cartridge front fork, equipped with base-valve preload adjusters.

That gives riders additional suspension tuning potential for different terrain and race conditions, while the CNC-machined triple clamps add another premium component to the front end.

For hard enduro, where traction, front-end precision and the ability to absorb repeated impacts matter constantly, this is one of the most important parts of the package.

Built With Protection Already Included

Extreme enduro has a habit of destroying exposed parts, so KTM has equipped the HARDENDURO with protection in the areas most likely to take punishment.

The skid plate protects the underside of the engine, while the bike also comes with guards for the front and rear brake discs, clutch slave cylinder and frame.

Front and rear pull straps are included too — one of those small details that suddenly becomes very important when the motorcycle is halfway up a rock step or buried in a technical section.

Factory Wheels and Soft Rear Tyre

The wheel package is equally race-focused.

Black Excel rims are combined with black spokes, orange hubs and orange spoke nipples, while KTM fits Metzeler 6Days Extreme tyres, including a soft-compound rear.

The orange Supersprox Stealth rear sprocket finishes off the factory look while keeping the HARDENDURO visually distinct from the regular EXC range.

A Showroom Hard Enduro Package

The idea behind the KTM 300 EXC HARDENDURO remains simple: take a 300cc two-stroke enduro platform and equip it with many of the parts riders would normally add before entering an extreme race.

From the radiator fan and brake-disc protection to the closed-cartridge fork, factory wheels, pull straps and reinforced protection, the bike is designed to arrive much closer to race-ready specification straight from the dealer.

Production of the 2027 KTM 300 EXC HARDENDURO is scheduled to begin in September at Mattighofen.
