When Andrea Verona rolls into the paddock at the 99th edition of the 6DAYS® FIM Enduro of Nations this week, it’s more than just another race. For the GASGAS rider, it’s a homecoming – and a chance to relive the magic of 2021, when Italy took the World Trophy win on Lombardian soil.

That victory, fueled by Verona’s speed and the relentless push of his teammates, saw Italy stand above Spain and the USA, with thousands of Italian fans waving flags like it was a football final.
Now, with Bergamo widely considered the capital of Italian Enduro, Verona knows another home victory would be the stuff of dreams.
“To have the 6DAYS not just in Italy, but in Bergamo, is special,” says Verona. “Winning in 2021 was an incredible moment in my career. I want to make it happen again – and I believe we can.”
The ISDE is no quick sprint. Every day, all four riders of the World Trophy team need to survive the tests, push for top results, and keep morale high when fatigue, mistakes, or crashes inevitably kick in. Verona knows this game inside out.
“The 6DAYS is very much a team race,” he explains. “We walk the tests together, share line choices, and support each other. That’s what makes the difference.”
In 2022, Samuele Bernardini even raced through a broken finger to keep Italy alive in the fight. That’s the spirit Verona is counting on again in Bergamo.

Of course, Verona’s main mission is simple – defend Italy’s colors and chase another World Trophy win. But he’s not hiding the fact that a personal overall victory is very much on the radar.
“The first objective is to win as a team. But for sure, my motivation is to win individually too. Josep Garcia will be fast, but I know I can fight with him.”
