Steve Holcombe heads into the final round of the 2026 FIM EnduroGP World Championship as the new leader of the Enduro3 class, following a flawless weekend at the GP of France in Saint-Agrève.
The Sherco Racing Factory rider delivered one of his strongest performances of the season, claiming back-to-back Enduro3 victories while also securing another overall EnduroGP podium finish. With just one round remaining, the Brit has put himself in the perfect position to fight for the world title on home soil.
Strong Start in Saint-Agrève
Holcombe showed his pace from the very beginning of the weekend by finishing third in Friday night’s Super Test, setting the tone for what would become one of his best rounds of the year.
On Saturday, he remained among the fastest riders throughout the day despite facing a major setback after suffering one of the biggest crashes of his recent career. Fortunately, the Brit was able to continue, recover, and turn the day into an impressive result, taking the Enduro3 victory and finishing fourth overall in EnduroGP.
Another Podium and Another Class Win
Sunday brought another confident and controlled ride aboard the Sherco 300 SE.
Holcombe once again stayed with the leading group throughout the day, fighting for the overall podium while maintaining the consistency needed to avoid costly mistakes after Saturday’s heavy crash.
His efforts were rewarded with third place overall in EnduroGP—his fourth overall podium finish of the 2026 season—along with a second consecutive Enduro3 victory to complete a perfect weekend in France.
Enduro3 Championship Leader
Those two class victories proved decisive. With only the GP of Wales (August 7–9) remaining, Holcombe now moves to the top of the Enduro3 World Championship standings, taking control of the title race at exactly the right moment.
While he currently sits fourth in the overall EnduroGP standings, the Enduro3 crown is now firmly within reach.
The season finale in Rhayader, Wales, will offer Holcombe the opportunity to fight for the world title in front of his home fans.

“It’s been a really positive weekend, and I’m delighted to leave France leading the Enduro3 championship, which was our main goal. Saturday was a little eventful after one of the biggest crashes I’ve had in a long time, but thankfully I could carry on, win the class and finish fourth overall.
On Sunday I focused on staying consistent and avoiding any mistakes after the crash. To finish on the EnduroGP podium again and take another Enduro3 win is a great result. It’s always special to do well at Sherco’s home GP, so a big thank you to the whole team for all their hard work. Now the focus is on the final round in Wales.”
