Billy Bolt is back racing, and his timing could not be better. After more than three months away from competition with a hand injury, the Husqvarna Factory Racing rider returned as a wildcard at the EnduroGP of Wales in Rhayader — and immediately showed that his raw speed has not disappeared.
Now the focus shifts to Forza Orza , Round 4 of the 2026 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship , where Bolt will make his championship return on August 20–22 in Orsa, Sweden.
P3 in the SuperTest on His First Night Back
Bolt wasted little time reminding everyone what he can do. In Friday evening’s Akrapovič SuperTest at EnduroGP Wales, he stopped the clock at 1:54.74, good enough for third overall. He finished just 0.96 seconds behind Zach Pichon, with newly crowned EnduroGP World Champion Josep Garcia second.
Jonny Walker, another familiar Hard Enduro name, finished fourth on the Triumph. For Bolt, it was his first proper race action since May. Not a bad way to return.
The TE 300 Was No Accident
Bolt raced the Enduro3 class aboard a Husqvarna TE 300, the same motorcycle he will use for the remainder of his Hard Enduro season. The Welsh GP carried no HEWC championship points, so the weekend served as an ideal race-speed test ahead of Sweden.
And judging by the opening SuperTest, the three-month break has not taken away Bolt’s speed against the clock.
The Injury Has Already Cost Him Valuable Points
Bolt’s absence has had a major impact on his championship campaign. He scored 29 points at 24MX Alestrem and another 15 at Extreme XL Lagares, but was forced to miss the Silver Kings Hard Enduro completely.
That leaves him sixth in the championship with 44 points, exactly 44 behind leader Manuel Lettenbichler, who currently sits on 88. With five rounds still remaining, Bolt has plenty of racing ahead. The question now is how quickly he can turn his returning speed into full Hard Enduro race pace.
Forza Orza: Sweden Makes HEWC History
Bolt’s comeback will continue at a completely new event. Forza Orza, held at Orsa Grönklitt from August 20–22, will become the first FIM Hard Enduro World Championship round ever staged in Sweden.
The format will test every part of a rider’s game. Thursday begins with a two-lap timed Prologue, followed by Friday’s Gold Sprint Race and Saturday’s two-hour-plus-one-lap Main Race. Across the weekend, 33 championship points are available.
That makes Sweden an important opportunity for Bolt to immediately start rebuilding his championship campaign.
Lettenbichler Still Leads, Brightmore Closing
Manuel Lettenbichler arrives in Sweden leading the championship with 88 points, but Mitch Brightmore has reduced the gap to just 13 points after his breakthrough Silver Kings victory.
Teodor Kabakchiev sits third on 68 points, while Ashton Brightmore and Mario Roman complete the championship top five.

A Different Billy Bolt Arrives in Sweden
The rest of the championship has not stood still while Bolt recovered. Lettenbichler recently claimed his seventh Red Bull Romaniacs victory, Kabakchiev continues to produce consistent results, and the Brightmore brothers have established themselves firmly at the front of the championship.
But Bolt’s comeback in Wales sends a clear message. He has not returned simply to ride himself back into shape. Third fastest overall in his first SuperTest after months away shows that the speed is already there. Now comes the harder part: taking that speed into the rocks, forests and climbs of Sweden and sustaining it across an entire HEWC weekend.
