Josep Garcia Opens the Season with Victory in Italy

Josep Garcia has taken the first win of the new season, claiming victory on Day 1 of the GP of Italy and laying down an early marker in the championship fight.

The KTM rider set the pace from the front and finished the opening day 5.92 seconds clear of Steve Holcombe, with the Sherco rider securing second place after a strong ride. Andrea Verona completed the podium in third, giving KTM two riders inside the top three, although the Italian ended the day around 30 seconds behind Garcia.

It is an important opening result for Garcia, who starts the season exactly where every title contender wants to be — on top. Holcombe’s second place also shows that Sherco is immediately in the fight, while Verona keeps himself in the picture with a solid podium finish on home soil.
