Garcia beats Verona by just one second in Finland as EnduroGP delivers another thriller

Garcia strikes back on day two

Day two at the GP of Finland, round three of the Paulo Duarte FIM EnduroGP World Championship, delivered another proper fight at the top, with Josep Garcia taking the EnduroGP victory by only 1.31 seconds over Red Bull KTM teammate Andrea Verona.

After Verona won day one, Garcia came into Sunday determined to answer back. The Spaniard started strong, opened an early gap in the first Extreme Test, and then spent the rest of the day managing pressure from Verona.

Verona attacks until the final test

Verona did not let Garcia escape. After a slower start, the Italian fought back quickly, winning the following Enduro Test and moving into second place. From there, the KTM teammates traded blows across the tests, with Garcia holding a small advantage going into the final lap.

The last test was classic Verona. He threw everything at it and went fastest by six seconds, but Garcia had just enough margin left to hold on and win the day by 1.31 seconds.

Holcombe completes the EnduroGP podium

Behind the KTM duo, Steve Holcombe delivered a strong ride to take third overall, after a battle with Zach Pichon and Brad Freeman. Freeman improved compared to day one and finished fourth, while Pichon completed the EnduroGP top five.

Holcombe also made it a double celebration by winning Enduro3, ahead of Freeman and Albin Norrbin.

Class wins for Garcia, Verona and Holcombe

Garcia continued his perfect run in Enduro1, making it six wins from six starts in 2026. In Enduro2, Verona took another class victory, with Pichon second and Hamish Macdonald third.

That means the two KTM riders once again left the rest of the field chasing, both in the overall fight and in their own classes.

Cristino and Dominguez take big wins

There were also important stories outside the senior classes. In Junior Enduro, Kevin Cristino claimed his first win of the 2026 season after a strong comeback ride, beating Will Dennett by 28 seconds.

In Youth Enduro, Yago Dominguez took his first-ever world championship race win. After early leader Pietro Scardina exited the race on the final lap, Dominguez kept his cool and brought it home for a debut victory.

Portugal comes next

After a tight and action-packed weekend in Finland, the EnduroGP World Championship now moves on to Portugal, with round four scheduled for June 12-14. Finland proved one thing clearly: the Garcia vs Verona fight is alive, fast, and separated by almost nothing.
