The Sherco Factory Racing riders dominated the 4th round of the FIM Hard Enduro World Championship, the Red Bull Romaniacs by winning 3 of the 4 days of racing.
Teodor Kabakchiev and Mario Roman were neck and neck on the last 2 days, they finished 2nd and 3rd respectively!
“Very good week for us, a podium in the romaniacs is always very good as it is one of the toughest races in the world. Day 1 I had a rear brake problem until it was fixed, I lost some valuable time, but I was able to keep racing and still have a good day with 2 overall: lost 28 minutes from leader that day.
Day 2 I had a good day, but Teo was flying I lost like 10’ from him this day. Day 3 I was able to ride very strong and win my first ever stage here in the romaniacs, I’m very proud of this achievement. Day 4 I had an amazing day opening the course because I started 1, there was no one to chase me so I rode my own race being smart and fighting with Teo. At the end of the week only 34’ from the winner and 2 ‘behind Teo. We made big progress towards the championship. The team worked very well and the bike was strong. Now I will focus on the next round on 24 August TKO USA.” said Mario Roman
Hare is what Teodor Kabakchiev said: “Romaniacs is one of my favorite races of the year. I love the mountains and the big days on the bike. However, this year they went too far especially on Day1. After 6 hours of riding, we had an impossible to ride hill where we ended up pushing our bikes and receiving help from people (which was a controversial situation knowing the rules and that outside help is forbidden). Anyway, big gaps were created on Day 1. I was sitting in 5-th position.
I dominated Day 2 by creating big gaps to the other guys. I rode consistently in Day3 without losing too much time. Won Day 4 to get the 2-nd place overall. Thanks to the team for their assistance and for the error-free work on the bike! The Sherco 300 is a monstrous bike and we proved it by winning 3 out of 4 racing days”.
