Billy Bolt and Jonny Walker Shake Up EnduroGP Wales SuperTest with Top-Five Times

The EnduroGP of Wales got off to a spectacular start in Rhayader, with two high-profile wildcards immediately making their presence felt in Friday evening’s Akrapovič SuperTest.

Billy Bolt and Jonny Walker both finished inside the overall top five, mixing it directly with the established EnduroGP championship contenders and setting the stage for an exciting weekend in Wales.

Billy Bolt Third Overall

Bolt wasted no time getting up to speed on the Husqvarna, stopping the clock at 1:54.74. That put him an impressive third overall, just 0.96 seconds behind SuperTest winner Zachary Pichon. For a wildcard appearance, it was a serious statement from the multiple-time SuperEnduro champion, and a real sign that he is back!

Jonny Walker Right Behind in Fourth

Jonny Walker was equally impressive aboard the Triumph. The British rider completed the SuperTest in 1:55.21, enough for fourth overall, only 0.47 seconds behind Bolt. That placed two wildcard riders inside the top four on the opening night of the GP.

Pichon Beats Garcia to the SuperTest Win

At the front, Zachary Pichon delivered the fastest time of the evening with 1:53.78. Newly crowned EnduroGP World Champion Josep Garcia was second in 1:54.20, only 0.42 seconds behind the Frenchman. Andrea Verona rounded out the overall top five.

EnduroGP Wales – SuperTest Top 5

  1. Zachary Pichon – 1:53.78
  2. Josep Garcia – 1:54.20
  3. Billy Bolt – 1:54.74
  4. Jonny Walker – 1:55.21
  5. Andrea Verona – 1:55.74

The Wildcards Are Here to Race

Bolt and Walker may be wildcards this weekend, but their opening performances make one thing clear: they are not in Wales just to make up the numbers. With both riders already inside the overall top five, the regular EnduroGP stars could have two extra problems to deal with when the full racing begins.
