A surprising call from BMW
At 51 years of age, Adam Riemann is preparing to take on one of the biggest challenges of his riding career after securing the opportunity to race a specially prepared BMW F 900 GS Enduro at this year’s Red Bull Romaniacs.
Even Riemann is not entirely sure how the factory opportunity came together, but the Motology Films rider is now flying to Austria to meet the team and test the motorcycle BMW has prepared for the race.
“How did I score a factory ride at 51 years of age? Not sure, but I’m flying to Austria to test the F 900 GS Enduro, which BMW have prepared for me to race at this year’s Romaniacs.”
A serious test for rider and motorcycle
The BMW F 900 GS Enduro is a large twin-cylinder adventure motorcycle, making the challenge very different from competing on a traditional lightweight hard enduro bike.
At Red Bull Romaniacs, Riemann will have to manage the motorcycle through long days, technical climbs, rocks, forest trails and demanding Carpathian terrain. It will be a major test of both the BMW’s off-road capability and the experience of the Australian rider.
The first step is the factory test in Austria, where Riemann will discover exactly what BMW has built for him and begin preparing the motorcycle for the toughest adventure bike race on the calendar.
