Sea To Sky’s Beach Race opened with two qualifying runs on Kındıl Beach. Brightmore set the pace from the very start, posting the fastest qualifying lap of the day at 1:32.61, nearly six seconds clear of the next fastest time. That form carried through every round.
In the superfinal, Brightmore won comfortably in 8:50.02, with championship rival Teo Kabakchiev in second and James Moore taking third. Ashton Brightmore completed a remarkable day for the British brothers by finishing fourth, just behind Manuel Lettenbichler in fifth.
Brightmore won all three of his heat races — the only rider to do so. The Beach Race result seeds tomorrow’s Forest Race starting order, so he enters Day 2 with the advantage of first pick on the trail.
