Claiming his second final win of the 2015 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship Jonny Walker finished in third place overall at round three of the series held in Helsinki, Finland.

Following on from his victory at the RECENT Alès Trêm extreme enduro event in France, Walker produced a 4/1/3 scorecard inside the Messukeskus Arena, the event that marks the mid-way point of the Superenduro series.

It was an anything but straightforward night for the KTM racer. Not posting a top eight fastest time in timed practice, Jonny missed the cut for the SuperPole session meaning he didn’t receive a top eight gate pick. Made to work hard during both the opening and third finals, he fought his way forward to finish fourth and third respectively.

It was in the second final that Jonny delivered his best result. Gating well and leading from the start he put together six mistake free laps to claim the win. Jonny joined Taddy Blazusiak and Cody Webb on the night’s overall podium.

Jonny Walker: “What happened in qualifying was my own mistake. I should have known it was only six laps. I just didn’t get a clear lap. I guess I should have pushed to get a time on the board and then hoped for a clear lap, but we’re not out on track for long so I guess it just happened the way it did. But things worked out well for me considering. I finished third overall so I got another podium result, which is good. And I won the reverse start order second final. Starts are always important indoors, and not getting a top eight qualifying time actually worked in my favour in the second final. I was able to start on the front row, and that really helped. I got a good start and rode smart to take the win. Things went well in the first and third finals too. All in all it was a good event for me. Now I have Hell’s Gate and then the fourth and fifth rounds of the SuperEnduro series…
