Billy Bolt Ends 2026 HEWC Season with Hixpania Podium

Billy Bolt closed his 2026 FIM Hard Enduro World Championship season with a strong podium at Hixpania, finishing third in Sunday’s The Lost Road main race after already winning both Friday’s SuperEncierro and Saturday’s Campoo Xtreme. It was a positive end to a difficult season in which the Husqvarna Factory Racing rider missed three championship rounds through injury.

Two Wins Before Sunday’s Main Race

Bolt started the weekend perfectly with victory in Friday’s SuperEncierro, then backed it up with another win in the Campoo Xtreme sprint. Saturday’s race was especially close, with Bolt beating newly crowned world champion Manuel Lettenbichler by just 3.5 seconds after more than 74 minutes of racing.

That speed carried into Sunday, where Bolt again found himself fighting near the front. The Lost Road proved much more physical, but after a difficult opening half he recovered strongly and moved into third on the final lap.

Bolt Finds a Second Wind

Billy Bolt: “Overall, I’m really happy to come away with third place. Honestly, I was pretty dead in the first half of the race and didn’t have much in the tank, so I found myself in a battle that I didn’t really have the energy to be in. I managed to hang in there, find a bit of a second wind and start clawing my way back, picking off a few positions before making the pass for third on the final lap. Considering how things went at my last championship race at Abestone, I didn’t really have any expectations coming into this weekend, especially as I hadn’t ridden a 2-stroke since then. All in all, it’s been a really good weekend. My body, my riding and everything else are finally starting to feel like me again, which is a great feeling. Now it’s time to get back on the 350 and switch the focus to SuperEnduro.”

That final sentence probably matters most. After months of injuries and interrupted racing, Bolt leaves Spain feeling closer to normal again.

  3. Billy Bolt – 2:16:45
  4. Mitch Brightmore – 2:20:33

Bolt’s third place completed a weekend of P1, P1 and P3, making Hixpania comfortably one of his strongest championship performances of the season.

P7 in the Championship After Missing Three Rounds

Despite missing three rounds, Bolt still finishes seventh in the final HEWC standings with 104 points. Manuel Lettenbichler takes the title with 223 points ahead of Mitch Brightmore, Teodor Kabakchiev, Ashton Brightmore and James Moore.

The outdoor season is now done for Bolt, and the focus switches immediately back to the 350 and the 2027 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship, which begins in December.
