Marion Roman has been 2nd after Jonny Walker at Hell’s Gate 2015
He started like every rider should: riding Trial Bikes from the age of 6. For years has been racing in the Spanish Trial Championship. At 18 he decided to try Enduro. “I was really fast, so I did Spanish Championship for one year and then 5 years World Enduro Championship, where I finished World Campion at 125cc in my first year, then I was second in Juniors Class after a really bad injury had forced me to stay off the bike for 2 years.”
After 2 long years of recovery, Mario didn’t find any support to return to WEC, but we think he has found something more interesting: Extreme Enduro Events and a great team, Zona Paddok and plenty support from KTM Spain.
So with the speed from the World Enduro Championship and after 12 years on trial bikes, we may have the most complete rider in Hard Enduro. “I think this is the perfect combination for Hard Enduro, but we don’t have to forget to add into the formula techique and lots of experience. Here comes my team. They have a few years of experience in extreme races, which is good for me, and they put a lot of effort in what they do. I’m glad to have the posibility to work with them.”
You can meet Mario in Arad – Romania on March 27th, 2015, right in the center of the City where the King of the Hill Hard Enduro Prologue will be. On March 28th you can follow the riders into the woods for a grueling 80km long track. Third and final day of King of the Hill will be near Ghioroc and the riders will have to stay on the bike for 3 hours on a extreme, closed circuit in the woods. You can find more information on www.heca.ro – the official site of the race.
