Seventh place for Gas Gas’s Dani Gibert in the Brazilian GP

The Gas Gas rider closes his South American World Cup SuperEnduro journey with a seventh place in the Brazilian Grand Prix. Gibert, still wearing the shoulder-brace, remains in eighth place overall in the World provisional standings in the highest category: Prestige.

Dani Gibert is seventh place in the 2015 Brazilian SuperEnduro GP. Positive results for the Gas Gas rider coming to ‘tour’ the South American lands, having been barely able to train and still very affected by his injuryacquired in Finland, which is a dislocated shoulder.

The Gas Gas rider took home a good result from Belo Horizonte, one of the best tracks of this 2015 series.Gibert could not enter the Superpole and had to settle for the tenth fastest time during the timed practice session, a time that did not allow him to fight for the Superpole.

Despite the disadvantages of starting from the second wave, Gibert started well in the first set. No doubt, the technical requirements of the track forced some errors for the rider from Santa Margarida i els Monjos, who finished in tenth place, under conditions of fatigue and lack of training during these past weeks due to the past injury.

In the second round of the finals, with a reverse starting order for the riders, Dani Gibert recovered and stood as the leader. He held the top position for the first turns, until once again exhaustion took its toll on him and he finished with a positive fifth. In the last of the three races of the evening, the Gas Gas rider was delayed because of falls by riders who preceded him. Gibert was forced to remount and with this he finished in theseventh position.

Lacking only one last round, the GP of France, on March 14 in Cahors, Dani Gibert ranks eighth in the world SuperEnduro in the top category. The Gas Gas Pons Factory Team rider will return home to take part in theBarcelona Indoor Enduro this weekend, not a points-scoring event for the World Championship, but  one with a special sentimental value for him and for the brand.

Dani Gibert: “The Brazilian experience has been positive. This layout has been, until now, the one I most liked around the world, a technical course that worked in my favor, although with the lack of training, in the end, I was not very strong. I got the tenth fastest time and that left us without entering the superopole and not in the front group, which determines the starting order. In the first and the third sets I fell behind and made mistakes, but the eighth position of the first is not bad. I was able to gather strength in the face of the second before the end, wherein we started in reverse order and I have been able to lead. I held this for two or three laps, but some came back strong and have passed me. And in the end I arrived in fifth place. Then in the final we met with the collision of Walker and Web, which has delayed us. And I’ve finally recovered to seventh position, the same in which we completed in the overall for the grand prize. A good result if we consider that the expectations in these World races in Brazil, and Mexico last week, were not very good, as I came with an injured shoulder.”
