The opening day was a masterclass from Garcia. Relentless rain and punishing rocky terrain tested every rider, but the KTM star thrived in the conditions. He topped 11 of 12 tests, storming to the Enduro1 victory by nearly two minutes, while also dominating EnduroGP overall with a winning margin of 27 seconds over Zach Pichon.
Garcia needed just a single championship point to secure the title, but true to his style, he didn’t back off. Racing with stitches in his elbow, a hip knock, and a leg muscle injury from Saturday’s crash, he still pushed hard. Another fall in the same section added to his struggles, but he gritted it out to finish 4th in Enduro1 and 15th in EnduroGP. That was more than enough to seal the E1 championship.
Josep Garcia: “I’m really happy about the weekend. Yesterday was incredible – I was riding super good. Unfortunately, my crash at the end of the day left me injured, and Sunday was one of the hardest days of my career. Still, I won the Enduro1 title, so I can only be proud. Now it’s time to recover and get ready for the final round in Germany, where I’ll fight for the EnduroGP title.”
