In one of the biggest moves of the week, Sweden overtook France for second place, now sitting just 23 seconds ahead as they head into Day Five.
Mikael Persson (Swe, Triumph):
“We were all riding strong and could pass France in the battle for second. We will try to keep going like this tomorrow.”
Behind the podium, Spain held fourth, edging further ahead of the USA, who remain in fifth—1 minute up on Australia, who sit sixth.
Dan Mundell (GB):
“Racing has been so tight, at times with only ten seconds separating ten riders. But we’ll keep digging deep and try to finish out the week as best we can.”
Italy still lead the juniors, but France refused to go quietly, pushing back into contention. After the first few tests, the gap shrank to just 30 seconds—until Italy regrouped and restored a 1-minute buffer by day’s end. Although France grabbed the Day Four win, the fight is far from over.
The battle for fourth turned ugly: Spain briefly slipped past the USA, but the Americans clawed the spot back and will start Day Five with a slim 12-second edge.
Arvid Modin (Swe, Triumph):
“It was good to ride new tests as I had struggled with the Cross Tests… This is Alfons Lindström’s first time in the 6DAYS®, so we are learning as a team all the time.”
The reigning champions in women’s racing galoped further out front, now boasting a 31-minute lead
Australia leapfrogged France for second, gaining a 1:06 advantage heading into the penultimate day. Italy remain fourth, GB fifth—and Canada’s Shelby Turner nailed her first-ever ISDE special test win.
Shelby Turner (CAN):
“For us, it’s all about getting through each day… I had a great day today, taking my first-ever test win in the 6DAYS® too.”
Italy’s Andrea Verona (GasGas) finally grabbed a Day Four win, dominating four of seven tests—but the headline came via Josep García’s gutsy ride, despite a hand injury sustained on Test Two. He still managed a remarkable second place, just four seconds back.
Andrea Verona:
“I felt like I had more grip and confidence to push a little more… with a repeat of tests tomorrow, I hope for another good result.
Swedish grit stood strong behind them.
